Zotac announces the MEK Ultra enthusiast PC with GeForce RTX GPUs

Zotac Gaming MEK Ultra PC - 01

Zotac have armed their gaming PC line-up with the new MEK Ultra, an enthusiast GeForce RTX-equipped build that now leads their Gaming MEK series.

Available in four configurations, the MEK Ultra takes advantage of some top-shelf hardware to push its capabilities higher. Naturally, that includes Zotac’s own line of GeForce RTX graphics cards, bringing all of Nvidia’s Turing advancements: real-time ray tracing, artificial intelligence, programmable shading, and the latest GDDR6 memory.

At the very top of the MEK Ultra pile is an 8th Gen Intel Core i9-7900X and Zotac Gaming GeForce RTX 2080 Ti combo, capable of chewing through any game you’d feed it — 4K and virtual reality included. The models step down to a Core i7-8700K processor after that, while the GPU doesn’t go any lower than a RTX 2070.

  • Intel Core i7 and GeForce RTX 2080 Ti + 32GB DDR4, 500GB SSD, 4TB HDD

  • Intel Core i7 and GeForce RTX 2070 + 16GB DDR4, 240GB SSD, 2TB HDD

The 2080 Ti models 32GB of DDR4 memory, a 500GB NVMe M.2 SSD, and a 4TB HDD. The remaining two models lower those to 16GB DDR4, 240GB SSD, and 2TB HDD.

They’re all kept in in an attractive chassis that Zotac has kept relatively simple, with a clear tempered glass side panel to show off the liquid-cooling system and their Spectra 2.0 RGB lighting within. If you like your bling though, then you definitely won’t miss the lighting strips running up the front panel.

Ports along the top include two USB 3.0, two USB 2.0, and 3.5mm jacks for microphone and headphone respectively. On the rear interface you’ll find two USB 3.1 Type C, another four USB 3.0, along with the usual spread of network and display connectivity options — this being a gaming PC, it does have Killer AC 1550 support. Curiously, there’s also a PS/2 port if your preferred peripherals calls for one.

“While its predecessor MEK1 excels with an ultra-slim footprint, MEK ULTRA’s grand and fearsome exterior embodies extreme performance out of the box. It is the high-end gaming PC every gamer dreams of, and its easily-accessible interior layout unlocks additional headroom for your future needs,” said Jacky Huang, product director of ZOTAC Technology in a press release.
