E3 2012: Vampires in Tamriel, Again
The glowing red eyes of the Nord in Skyrim DLC Dawnguard’s poster hinted at something sinister to come… but what was it?
IGN received the answer on the E3 showfloor – Dawnguard, the first DLC for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, will be about vampires.
With approximately 15 hours of content, Dawnguard will see you either as a vampire or as a member of the anti-vampire Dawnguard faction.
Vampires get wings and can hover instead of walking, while members of the Dawnguard faction get access to crossbow designs, armour and weapons, as well as the ability to summon an armoured troll. I never knew vampires were averse to armoured trolls…
Dawnguard seems to be tightly integrated with the current game, though you will be getting new explorable zones. Players appear to be able to get started on the quest line from as low as level ten.
Dawguard will be released on the Xbox 360 first this summer, with the PlayStation 3 and PC versions to follow.
