ViewQwest launches 1Gbps Raptor Gaming, comes bundled with a Nighthawk XR500 router

ViewQwest is offering a new broadband bundle in time for IT Show 2018. Priced at $49.90 per month, the 1Gbps Raptor Gaming service offers automatic traffic optimization and custom-routing for an improved online experience. To celebrate the launch, new signs up during the IT Show will receive Netgear’s $439 Nighthawk Pro Gaming WiFi Router (XR500) as well as three months worth of FreedomDNS.

ViewQwest uses their own latency-based routing technology to automatically hunt for the shortest path to the destination site. For the Raptor lines, this means optimized traffic to leading sites and servers such as Steam, Blizzard, PlayStation Network, and Xbox Live.

Given the ever-increasing sizes of games and their updates — Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition can take a staggering total of 148GB — every bump in download speed certainly helps. That shorter route could potentially reduce in-game lag, too, an improvement any gamer can appreciate.

For the less popular games and serves, customers may call up ViewQwest’s technical helpdesk to request for custom routing.

As for that bundled router, the Nighthawk XR500 is Netgear’s first gaming-marketed router. It’s dual-band AC2600 with MU-MIMO support, sporting a dual-core 1.7GHz processor, simultaneous dual-band WiFi, and 15 extra DFS channels to help work around congested broadband environments. The DumaOS dashboard is comprehensive too, packed with beginner and advanced features to help shape your network performance.

As ViewQwest’s chief executive officer Vignesa Moorthy puts it, the service and router “are a lethal combination that lets gamers deliver the coup de grace effortlessly.”

ViewQwest’s existing services will also be bundled up for the IT Show. The $39.90 1Gbps broadband line comes with 12-month Freedom DNS, while the $59.90 2Gbps line includes Netgear’s Orbi Tri-Band WiFi System (RBK40) worth $599 and 12-month Freedom DNS. For even faster speeds, there’s the symmetrical 10Gbps line for $189 per month with 3-month Freedom DNS.

All broadband bundles are tied to a 24-month subscription. Signs up may be done at the ViewQwest booth (no. 8468) or online.

IT Fair 2018 is at Suntec Singapore and runs from 15–18 March.
