Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is getting a manga spin-off

Sekiro

While we patiently wait to see if FromSoftware will release some DLC for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, fans of the game can soon slate their hunger on an official manga.

Instead of Okami, the manga will focus on Hanbei the Undying, the mysterious man who served as our training dummy due to his curious inability to die. Shin Yamamoto will author the Sekiro manga, with supervision from FromSoftware.

tweet by US publisher Yen Press gave us the synopsis: “The Sengoku Era… A time when losing a battle meant losing it all. The Sword Saint, Isshin Ashina, aims for world domination… That is, until he encounters a certain Samurai…”

That sounds like Hanbei might have come into conflict with the Sword Saint, Isshin, which might also mean we’d get to see the Sculptor in his past life. We can only wait and see what this new side story will have, but needless to say we’re all excited!

The Japanese version will be on Kadokawa’s ComicWalker site on May 27, while Yen Press hasn’t issued a release date so far.
