Ryan Reynolds just leaked Detective Pikachu… or did he?

Twitter is abuzz after actor Ryan Reynolds shared a supposed leak of the Detective Pikachu movie premiering this week. Reynolds, who voices the title character, even went to tag the official movie and Warner Brothers accounts out of apparent concern. So of course we had to watch it!
The linked YouTube video starts as one would expect, with the title logos of Warner Bros., Legendary and The Pokémon Company. It seemed to be a legitimate, high-quality leak with Justice Smith’s character walking through the city as various Pokémon abound. The 1hr 42m video length just made it even more convincing. But what happens next? Well, why don’t you watch it yourself?
Yup, the internet just got pranked.
What we see after the first minute is Pikachu doing an exercise dance and basically looking adorable. This then proceeds to loop for the rest of the video.
Back when Detective Pikachu was first announced, I was somewhat skeptical over how the Pokémon looked. I must admit: the designs have started to grow on me.

Pikachu is really cute.
Pokémon: Detective Pikachu will be available in Singapore theatres this Thursday, May 9th. In the meantime, why not catch the yellow detective himself in Pokémon Go?
