PlayStation VR Launches on Oct 13 for US$399

E3 2016: Virtual reality is coming to the gaming masses soon. At their E3 2016 press conference, Sony revealed that the PlayStation VR launches on October 13, 2016 for the low price of US$399 (S$540), putting it ahead of its pricier PC counterparts.
From its launch until the end of the year, there will be 50 VR games available for the VR system. Sony showcased a couple of these titles at the show, from brand-new IPs such as Farpoint to licensed spins such as Batman Arkham VR and X-Wing VR Mission.
Even Final Fantasy XV is getting some form of VR experience, although it does look to be shoved in rather than a well-thought out concept.
Sony didn’t announce any details on the upgraded PlayStation 4 codenamed “Neo”, nor did they mention how the PlayStation VR would take advantage of the better hardware.
For now, check out the new trailers below and bask in the prospect of virtual reality reaching mass-market and what that could mean for the gaming industry in the future.
