Plants vs. Zombies 2 Has Sprouted for iOS

Plants Vs. Zombies 2

Green and grey thumbs alike can now enthusiastically twitch for the worldwide release of Plants vs. Zombies 2, now available for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

PopCap Games’ latest mobile romp brings back the eternally cheerful army of sunflowers and friends against the shambling horde, building upon the original’s gameplay with new content. While levels, plants and zombies are a given, they’ve also implemented a few new features to keep things fresh. For instance, glowing zombies drop Plant Food, granting a short but powerful boost to your leafy forces. On the other hand, the undead get improved plant defences from gesture-based power-ups. Adding on to the game’s longevity are Challenge Zones placed at the end of each world.

Like most mobile games, Plants vs. Zombies 2 is a free-to-play title designed with regular updates and a cash shop in mind. PopCap will expand the universe with new plants, zombies and challenges beyond the initial launch, while those with money to spare can purchase upgrades and other in-game items. It should be pointed out, however, that you’d get to see every zombie across every level and world without having to spend a single dollar.

Plants vs. Zombies 2 is exclusive to iOS for the launch period and will be available to other platforms later this year. Get it for free on the App Store!
