Nintendo Wii U Nearly Made It To Licence2Play '12
Yes, so the rumors were true after all – sort of. According to Licence2Play organizers, Nintendo intended to showcase their Wii U consoles at the showfloor via local distributor Maxsoft.
Unfortunately, the initial shipment of Wii U consoles did not arrive in time for Nintendo and Maxsoft to set up the demo kiosks proper, which meant that they had to pull out of the show some time back. Much less to sell them. Which is quite the bummer, as Nintendo’s Wii U presence would have been the ultimate icing on what I thought was a pretty good gaming convention to date, content wise.
Still, Nintendo fans should rejoice, as our ‘eyes and ears’ on the ground are telling us that the Wii U (both Basic and Deluxe versions) consoles will be released into the local market as early as next week.
Pricing wise? We are still waiting for Maxsoft to confirm on that. In the meantime, keep coming back here for more Wii U release updates as soon as we get them.
