Steam’s Lunar New Year Sale is live, new wishlist tools available

Trade in those crisp red packets for a couple of discounted PC games in Steam’s Lunar New Year Sale. It runs from now till 20 February, 2AM SGT, with “thousands” of titles on offer. To help you sort through it all, Valve has updated the wishlist page with a new look and some truly useful filters.

The filter is a long overdue addition, especially for games that don’t quite make it to the front page or don’t trigger Steam’s user-targeting algorithms. You might say that’s exactly what the wishlist is for — and Steam does send notification emails — but when you literally have hundreds of titles marked, things wind up a little messy. The operating system filters are helpful too, especially if you’re on the lookout for multiplayer games and have friends using OS X or Linux.

As usual, we’re pretty spoiled for choice when it comes to the selection of games. Here are some of Steam’s highlights for those S$12 or less:

• Counter-Strike: Global Offensive — $7.50
• Overcooked — $6.79
• Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime — $6.00
• Cat Quest – $7.80
• Rocket League — $12.00
• Stardew Valley — $12.00
