HMV Opens Social Media Cafe
Entertainment retail giant HMV has opened a ‘social media café’ to keep itself relevant in today’s markets.
According to The Telegraph, the café – set to open in Cambridge, UK, this Saturday – will let customers browse the Internet over free Wi-Fi while having a coffee. There will also be phone charging points and a community blackboard where people can post messages and fliers.
The social media café will also have a “high profile” technology department, as well as an area dedicated to live music performances and local exhibitions.
“As the company continues with the transformation of its retail offer in response to the changing way that people now discover and enjoy entertainment content, HMV is increasingly developing a fully-fledged multi-channel offer across its combined store, online, and digital estate,” said a HMV spokesperson.
