Google: All Your Motorola Mobility Are Belong To Us

Google has officially announced their successful acquisition of Motorola Mobility, the mobile wing of the formerly whole Motorola company.

The company was bought over for an estimated US$12.5 billion Motorola Mobility will continue its operations as a separate business and remain a licensee of the Android mobile platform. Whether the acquisition would mean layoffs or corporate reshufflings remains to be seen, although current CEO Sanjay Jha has stepped down, with the president of Google in the Americas, /dennis Woodside as his replacement.
