Gearbox and 2K announce official Borderlands 3 Twitch Extension

Great news, Vault Hunters!
Gearbox Software and 2K have just announced an official Twitch Extension for Borderlands 3. The Borderlands 3 ECHOcast Extension goes live tonight, just in time for the worldwide gameplay reveal happening at 1 am (May 2, GMT+8).
The event will feature content creators and popular streamers from all over the world, and viewers might even walk away with exclusive in-game items!
Using the extension, viewers will be able to inspect the streamers’ loadouts, loot, and even skill trees, making for a nice measure of interactivity. On top of that, there are special in-game chests for each streamer, which will kick start an opt-in event within the chat. By taking part in one of these, viewers stand to win an item of their choice from it, which can then be claimed via an associated Gearbox SHiFT code.
Objectively, this is a pretty smart move on the developers’ part. Not only does it generate hype for Borderlands 3 and it’s September 13th release date, but it also gives fans a good gauge of what to expect from each character.
TL;DR tonight’s event is one you won’t want to miss! That said, perhaps you’d like to check out the official announcement trailer while waiting. You can also read up on what we already know about Borderlands 3 here.
