Gamescom 2012: The Last Guardian Had To Be Redone

The Last Guardian is still hanging in there, despite its no-show at Sony’s Gamescom press conference.

According to Eurogamer, Sony Worldwide Studios chief Shuhei Yoshida said that Sony Japan Studio had to completely redo the work the game to get into a playable state.

“We had the game playable. At one point we felt that it would be produced for a certain time period. That was the time we prematurely talked about the launch window. But it turned out the technical issues are much harder to solve,” he said.

There has been speculation that The Last Guardian may have been pushed to the PlayStation 4, but Yoshida dismissed that, saying: “the game is developed on PS3.”
