Summer sales come to the PlayStation Store

Never mind the fact that it’s been pouring rather than scorching; it’s time to crack open that wallet for another summer sale!
Sony PlayStation Asia has launched their two-part Hot Summer Deals from now until 24 August, putting up discounts ranging between 30 and 70 percent; PlayStation Plus members get to shave off an additional 10 percent for applicable titles.
Here are some of our highlights for the Part 1 sale, taking the PS Plus discount into account:
- Bloodborne — $35.94 (40%)
- Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection — $25.16 (60%)
- Until Dawn — $13.88 (50+10%)
- Heavy Rain — $16.64 (50+10%)
- XCOM: Enemy Unknown Plus — $11.28 (50+10%)
This is a good opportunity to pick up on PS4 or PS Vita exclusives you missed out on, though you may want to crawl the rest of the site for concurrent deals.
For example, Beyond: Two Souls is now on 66% discount. Picking that up with Heavy Rain will only run you a total of $30.74, as opposed to The Heavy Rain & Beyond: Two Souls Collection priced at $62.
Hot Summer Deals Part 1 ends on 9 Aug, which will then be replaced by a new set of deals from 10–24 Aug.
There’s also the EA Summer Sale if you’ve yet to try out Mirror’s Edge Catalyst and Star Wars Battlefront, or older releases such as Dragon Age: Inquisition, Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2, and EA Sports Fifa 16.
Those on a tight budget could consider the oft-overlooked Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning if fantasy action-RPGs are their thing.
