Star Wars Battlefront launches today

Grab those blasters, it’s time to fight for the Empire and/or Rebellion in DICE’s latest first-person-shooter, Star Wars Battlefront.
Available today in Asia for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC, Star Wars Battlefront pits up to 40 players in large-scale multiplayer matches set during the original Star Wars trilogy. Be it towering AT-ATs on Hoth or the cramped jungles of Endor, fans can look forward to battling it out on famous environments alongside unique characters such as Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Boba Fett, Han Solo, and more.
“We have given DICE unprecedented access to the original source materials and our creative teams and in turn, they have done an incredible job of capturing the essence and spirit of the original trilogy,” commented Ada Duan, Vice President of Digital Business and Franchise Management, Lucasfilm.
Players looking to step away from multiplayer mayhem once in a while may indulge in Missions played alone or with a friend, couch co-op included. These range from Training to help you hone your skills in the air and on the ground, to Survival where you face against waves of elite Imperial forces.
We’re only a month away from the theatrical release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens too, which means there’s a tie-in mission included. Named the Battle of Jakku, it takes place after the Rebel victory in the Battle of Endor in Episode VI, showing how the desert landscape came about in the first place. Those who pre-ordered gain access to this mission on 1 December, one week before everyone else.
Naturally it wouldn’t be a modern game without a companion app. You can download it now over on the App Store or Google Play.
It bears mentioning once again: Episode VII is coming next month!
