Kritika SEA enters closed beta until May 30

Playpark are bringing in a new online action RPG called Kritika SEA, the first English localization of the made-in-Korea Kritika Online. Those curious to see the game in action can now participate in a PC closed beta that runs until May 30.

Kritika SEA’s approach appeals to the time-pressed gamer. While similar in appearance to most MMOs, the game’s instanced dungeons can actually be completed in 10 minutes. To compress all the action into such a short time frame, Kritika adopts a fast-paced combo system that certainly isn’t shy when it comes to style – players will get to unleash all the flashy crowd-clearing, aerial-juggling skills to their heart’s desire.

What’s even more interesting is the game’s compatibility, which supposedly runs on everything from modern ultrabooks to “ten-year-old systems running on Core 2 Duo and GeForce 7000 series graphics cards.” Kritika’s stylized, cel-shaded art was pointed out as the key component in keeping system requirements low.

The focus on short sessions and wide compatibility can be traced to Korean developer All-M, the studio behind Kritika: The White Knights for both iOS and Android. Moving to PC gave the developers room to expand on the experience, providing players with more skills and a better dungeon experience overall.

“We receive many requests from hardcore gamers in SEA to bring more fast-paced games to the region,” said Ivan Seah, Operations Director at Asiasoft Online. “We hope players will enjoy the blend of dynamic graphics and gameplay in Kritika SEA.”

The 5GB client can be downloaded from the official website now. For updates on maintenance or special events, keep tabs on their Facebook page.
