Homestuck Game Now in Development
On 21st June 2014, The Odd Gentlemen announced that they are in the process of developing the Homestuck game.
We’ve been keeping a lot of cards close to our chest, but one we can now finally reveal is that we are making the Homestuck game with Andrew Hussie! We are having an incredible time working on this title with Hussie and his team. We’re not ready to talk about the details but we can say this game is going to encompass everything we all love about the Homestuck universe with everything we all love about adventure games, and we couldn’t be more excited to make that combination a reality.
Homestuck, a MS Paint Adventure (MSPA) game, tells a story of John Egbert, a 13-year old boy who gets a beta copy of a game “Sburb”. On Planet Sburb, John goes on adventures with his friends to defeat Jack Noir. MSPA games generally refer to games made with MS Paint. However, Homestuck has, since its debut in 2009, transitioned to Flash animation.
Homestuck’s Kickstarter page has garnered over $2.4million, exceeding its initial goal of $700,000. MSPA describes Homestuck as, ” an illustrated, semi-animated story on the internet. It is not a comic that just happens to be hosted on the internet – it was specifically designed to exist there, to explore the potential of the medium, and evolve through reader participation. “.
