Don’t miss out on these 7 free PC games by Ubisoft

Since June, Ubisoft has been giving out free games in celebration of their 30th anniversary. Now that 2016 is coming to a close, they’re giving everyone one final chance to grab these offers.

All you’ll need to claim the bundle is a Ubisoft account. There are no regional restrictions or any hoops to jump through whatsoever – simply log in and click a button. The PC titles in question will then be added to your Uplay library, Ubisoft’s own games portal.

It’s a pretty good selection too, ranging from well-loved classics to fairly recent releases:

  • Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
  • Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell
  • Rayman Origins
  • The Crew
  • Beyond Good & Evil
  • Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon
  • Assassin’s Creed III

Splinter Cell is going to be the most dated of the bunch here. While Prince of Persia hails from the same era, platformers generally weather the ages better, especially when it’s one as good as Sands of Time. There’s Beyond Good & Evil too, which picked up a number of awards despite being overshadowed by Prince of Persia’s marketing.

The newer titles should need no introduction. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is an ‘80s-inspired, retro-futuristic spin-off that redefined the potential of DLCs, whereas Assassin’s Creed III departs from the series’ fixture on the Crusades to dig into the American Revolution. And who can ignore Rayman Origins, a revived classic that proves the series still has plenty of charm?

Which leaves us with The Crew, arguably Ubisoft’s weakest link in the line-up. Whatever the racing game did well was undone by its messy online-only problems and excessive microtransactions.

But it’s all free so who’s to complain?

The Ubi 30 giveaway ends on 18 December.
