Sony recently held a PS Vita launch event at 313@Somerset, officially introducing the set to Singapore. It was organised by Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong (SCEH), and started with a media preview of the set and some of its launch titles! It later kicked off proper with a quick performance by the PS Vita models.

Chairman of SCEH Tetsuhiko Yasuda then took the stage to present the Vita, after which short speeches were made by the Media Development Authority of Singapore and Nanyang Polytechnic.

The developers went up next. Codemasters showcased F1 2011, while Studio Liverpool showed how the crossplay function of the PS Vita could be utilised in Wipeout 2048. Local developer Ratloop Asia also announced that Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken, would be making the leap from the PlayStation 3 to the Vita.

The launch area was then opened up to the public, for gamers to try out the trial sets on display.
