E3 2018: Lara returns on 14 September for Shadow of the Tomb Raider

A new gameplay video for Shadow of the Tomb Raider was shown at Square Enix’s E3 showcase today. Hardened and once again caught in dire circumstances, everyone’s favorite tomb raider goes full Predator as she slinks, stalks, and ambushes her way through Mexico and Peru.

The gameplay segments focused on stealth mechanics and the more sophisticated traversal options, including a full-fledged 3D swimming model for underwater spelunking.

Rebooted back in 2013 with Tomb Raider, this third and supposedly final installment of the origin story sets a darker tone as our heroine races to stop the coming apocalypse. What’s tragic about it is that she was the accidental trigger, so we’re looking at a grief-stricken Lara swinging between jungle warfare expert and archeological extraordinaire.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider releases on 14 September for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
