DLC announced, Graphic Novel May 3rd for Max Payne 3

Rockstar Games has announced their plans for the upcoming downloadable content and map packs for Max Payne 3, as well as the impending release of the official graphic novel.

The first of the DLC, dubbed the Local Justice Map Pack, will include the Police Precinct map for players to brawl in on multiplayer online. Two other maps, multiplayer avatar items and challenges will also be included in the pack.

Other packs announced for Max Payne 3, including their release time frame, are:

Summer 2012
• Disorganized Crime Map Pack
• Deathmatch Made In Heaven Mode Pack
• Hostage Negotiation Map Pack
• New York Minute Co-Op Pack

Fall 2012
• Painful Memories Map Pack
• Trickle Down Economics Map Pack

Much like L.A. Noire, Max Payne 3 will have The Rockstar Pass for players who want access to all future DLC, starting with the Local Justice Map Pack coming in June, at a special price of US$29.99 over on the PS Store and 2400 MS Points in North America. The Max Payne 3 Rockstar Pass is ready for pre-order.

Rockstar Games has also worked with Marvel comics for the Max Payne 3 3-part graphic novel series that will be made available as a digital graphic novel on May 3rd this week. “After the Fall” recounts Max Payne’s dark history, stiching togethter the characters from all three games. The graphic novel will be released for free over Rockstar Games, the Max Payne 3 website and digital cimic distribution channels (which, I suppose, includes Marvel’s own app on iOS).

Max Payne 3 will be released on May 19th on PS3 and Xbox 360 and June 1st on Windows PCs. Check out our preview here.
