Digital Buyers Of Diablo III Restricted To Starter Edition For Up To Three Days
In another strange attempt to make gamers hate them, Blizzard has, as of its latest patch, restricted digital buyers to the Starter Edition for up to three days.
Getting locked to the Starter Edition means players only have access to Act I. They’re also limited to playing with other Starter Edition players, and will experience a level 13 level cap and no auction house access. RAGE!
According to Blizz, the delay is needed so they can approve digital purchases.
“It is a necessary step to combat fraud and other malicious activities that can weaken everyone’s play experience,” explained support forum agent, Kaltonis. Three days is a safe estimate for how long they’ll take to do that, so theoretically you can get your game much earlier.
Although… we do feel that perhaps that’s something they should have thought about before launching a game and making online connection compulsory.
