Cristiano Ronaldo is your FIFA 18 cover star

Love him or hate him, Electronic Arts has announced Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid C.F. as the global cover star of the EA Sports FIFA 18. The football game will be out worldwide this 29 September 29 on PlayStation 3 and 4, Xbox 360 and One, PC and Nintendo Switch.

The partnership with Ronaldo also allowed for the publisher to create his likeness in-game too. To deliver innovation to FIFA 18, the recent La Liga and European Championship double winner’s data was recently recorded during a training session at a mobile EA Capture studio in Madrid.

Data capture of Ronaldo’s acceleration, run cadence, skills, and shooting technique were all recorded to bring accuracy to his likeness and personality in the game. His data also informed important gameplay elements including ‘fluidity, player responsiveness and explosiveness‘, according to EA Sports.
