Gamescom 2012: Capcom Unveils Remember Me, 7-Minute Gameplay Video

Capcom has announced a new 3rd-person action adventure IP during a press conference at this year’s gamescom, Remember Me, along with a gameplay video.

The game takes place in Neo-Paris in the year 2084, when all privacy is lost (thanks a lot, Facebook). As an elite memory hunter, Nilin is capable of breaking into people’s minds and shake up their memories. Scary stuff, so she’s arrested by the authorities, dropped in prison and had her memory erased. She, of course, breaks out of the slammer and goes on a quest to rediscover her past.

The 7-minute gameplay video tells us almost all we need to know about Remember Me. Players will play as Nilin going through missions and getting the information you seek. Players can also “remix” memories of poor victims by hacking into their minds and changing the circumstances a la Ghost Trick, and change their perspective.

Okay. The thing that got me in love was the dystopia, the killer futuristic holograms and user interfaces, but then that became secondary. Remember Me is due for a May 2013 release for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC. Remember that.
