Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition Adds Co-Op & Cross Platform Support
Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition will now have cross platform support and co-op multiplayer, according to a tweet by Trent Oster, Creative Director of the game.
The initial incarnation of the game was an epic single-player RPG. While it stole the hearts of many in the era it was released, we’ve no doubt that adding co-op play will refresh it for a whole new generation of gamers.
According to the official site, the Enhanced Edition of Baldur’s Gate will be released for Windows, Mac OSX, iPad and Android platforms, and will run on an upgraded and improved version of the Infinity Engine. This means none of your friends will have any excuse not to get the game.
The Enhanced Edition will include the original Baldur’s Gate game, the Tales of the Sword Coast expansion pack and new content: an entire new adventure and three additional party members. Players can now add the Calishite Monk Rasaad yn Bashir, Neera the Wild Mage or Dorn Il-Khan, the evil blackguard, to their party.
Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition can be pre-purchased now with a special discount of US$2 off! Considering you can now play with friends and enjoy this timeless adventure with your personal band of heroes, we consider pre-purchasing an investment. You’ll also get a special forum badge, and the opportunity to pre-download the game before launch.
