Apple Drops YouTube App In Latest iOS 6 Beta
Developers with the latest iOS 6 beta are reporting of the loss of the default YouTube app in-built into the mobile operating system since its launch with the first iPhone.
Many believe that this is the result of Apple’s gradual breaking up Google, who owns YouTube since 2006, following the removal of Google Maps from the default Maps app in the upcoming iOS 6. Apple, however has responded saying that this is due to the expiration of the YouTube licence Apple holds.
Google is working on a separate YouTube app for the App Store and iOS users can still access m.YouTube.com, which I recommend doing since the default app was never really any good.
