Wargaming League: The Grand Finals 2016 Live
Wargaming has planted the eSports flag in Warsaw, Poland, and declared it the new capital of competitive gaming. From April 8-9, the city will be hosting the WGL: The Grand Finals 2016 for the third time in a row. This massive, annual competition will attract 12 World of Tanks finalist teams, who will be battling out for the ultimate title of World of Tanks Grand Finals 2016 champion, and a share in the US$300,000 prize pool.
To qualify for The Grand Finals each year, each region servers send its best two teams via their own qualifying finals. Namely, they are:

Natus Vincere (Ukraine)
NSS (Russia)
Hell Raisers (Russia)
Europe
Wombats on Tanks
Tornado.Rox

Red Canids (Brazil)
China (one team)
Yato
Prize Breakdown
- First place – $150,000
- Second place – $75,000
- Third place – $35,000
- Fourth place – 20,000
- Fifth to Eighth place – $5,000 each
For 2016, there have been a couple of important changes. This was part of the shake-up after EL Gaming’s stunning success at last year’s Grand Finals – and subsequently changing the competitive dynamics of World of Tanks. While the 7v7 lineup remains, the battle time has been increased to 10 minutes (previously seven). This allows for a more exciting aggressive play by the teams. Crucially, the introduction of Tier X tanks will also be an eye-opener for spectators. No doubt, The Grand Finals 2016 will see teams adopt a more offensive type of style, than the ultra defensive tactics seen in the past two Grand Finals.
The game mode of choice for Grand Finals 2016 will be Attack/Defense. One team protects two base capture zones, while the other team attempts to capture them, or destroy their tanks.
