DM MCZ Pro Ann To Represent Country At IEM Singapore

StarCraft II player Poh Ann, better known by his handle DM MCZ Pro Ann, walked away winner of the Intel Extreme Masters Singapore Qualifiers held yesterday at AFTERSHOCK PC.

The team Desperation Move member beat several high profile players like Team Eve’s Yekke and Dougy and Flash E-Sports’s Kyzer to emerge tops. Apart from the US$650 cash prize, he will also be representing the country at the Intel Extreme Masters’s Singapore tour stop during SITEX 2012.

Poh Ann picked up StarCraft II back when it first launched. His prior RTS gaming experience only included casual play of WarCraft III.

“I didn’t expect to win before going for the qualifier. It was only after I beat (Flash E-Sports’s) Kyzer that I felt I could win everything,” he told us. While Poh Ann does not expect to do well at the actual IEM competition owing to what he thinks will be fierce competition from Europe and Korea, he will, at least, still be preparing for it.

“I will do my best to represent Singapore,” he said.
