Pokemon Let’s Go! sales have zoomed past the 3 million mark

Love it or hate it, there’s no denying that the Pokemon Let’s Go! series are smashing records.

The duo of titles, Let’s Go! Pikachu and Let’s Go! Eevee, were only released about a week or so ago, but the Pokemon Company has reported that over three million copies have already been sold! Wow!

Viral Pikachu meme aside, they’re the fastest selling Switch titles to date, easily dwarfing both the first and second runner-ups: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey.

From a bystander’s perspective, it seems that the games’ focus on accessibility, as well as interactivity with Pokemon Go are what spurred its sales success. Excluding the minor Mew fiasco several days ago, the games are still doing well and most die-hard Pokemon fans have come to accept and enjoy it as part of the franchise.

On a more amusing note, the company has also been rather… strategic with their release timing, given they released it just a week before Black Friday. Nice one, Pokemon.
