Garena takes up arms alongside Activision and Tencent for Call of Duty: Mobile

I love it when everyone works together to bring great games to people. Especially when Call of Duty: Mobile is part of the equation.
At Garena World 2019, Garena’s Regional Head of Strategic Partnership and Esports Development Mr. Allen Hsu announced a collaboration with Activision and Tencent for the free-to-play mobile FPS. This means that Garena will hold the publishing reins for Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Taiwan.
Call of Duty: Mobile is the first mobile game for the franchise, incorporating guns, characters and maps from throughout the Call of Duty universe. Admittedly, we don’t have a release date yet, but there is a pre-registration period that we’ve covered previously.
When asked for comment on the new game, Mr. Hsu said “Call of Duty was again the number one selling console franchise worldwide in 2018, a feat accomplished nine times in the last ten years. This title is a masterpiece that combines the original classic and epic gameplay from Activision, the extraordinary and market-leading development on mobile by Tencent Games, and the outstanding publishing expertise from Garena. To a gamer, it’s like a dream come true.”
Similar sentiments were echoed by Mr. Eddie Chan, Tencent Games’ Vice President of International Partnerships. He said “Most players enjoy this great Call of Duty experience on consoles. But that is about to change. The mobile version will bring that experience to many more game-lovers. We truly cannot ask for a greater partnership to bring this cutting edge mobile gaming experience to all of you.”
Indeed. We’re already looking forward to the release, and we hope the new game gives us yet another reason to love the Call of Duty franchise.
